What is a High School FIDM Fashion Club?
A Fashion Club is a group of amazingly fabulous high school students with similar interests in Fashion, Design, Shopping, Sewing, Decorating, Modeling, and/or Beauty—anything related to Fashion- who have completed the application process and been approved by FIDM. FIDM Fashion Club members meet at least twice per month to share ideas, learn new things, explore Fashion opportunities, and showcase their talents.
Who can start a new FIDM Fashion Club Chapter?
Any currently enrolled high school student- freshman to senior –is eligible for consideration to start a high school FIDM Fashion Club.
Where can FIDM Fashion Club Chapters be started?
FIDM Fashion Club Chapters can be started in any high school located in the United States and Canada. Sorry, we are unable to accommodate any other groups at this time. Permission from the school must be obtained before starting any kind of club on school property.
When can I start?
You can submit your completed FIDM Fashion Club Application to FIDM for consideration at any time during the year. Once received, a representative from FIDM Fashion Club will contact you. FIDM Fashion Club Chapter Membership is subject to rules and review.
Do I have to wait until the application process is complete to start having meetings?
No! As long as you have permission from your school, you can start having meetings before the application process is complete.
What if there is already a Fashion Club, FCCLA, or FHA club at my school?
If you already have fashion club, you can easily convert it to an official FIDM Fashion Club (and become eligible for all the perks) by completing the usual application process.
An existing FCCLA or FHA Club, can become an official FIDM Fasion club while still maintaining FCCLA/FHA bylaws. The goal of the FIDM Fashion Club High School Chapter program is to provide expert guidance for, and to create a community among, high school students - built on sharing, learning, exploring, and showcasing students' talents within the Fashion, Graphics, Interior Design, Marketing, and Visual Arts disciplines. Our program is a complement to the FCCLA/FHA program content. Please check with your school administration and/or your schools current FCCLA/FHA Club Advisor when applying for official FIDM Fashion Club status.
Can I win a Scholarship for starting a new FIDM Fashion Club Chapter?
Yes! Any member of an approved FIDM Fashion Club Chapter (Club Leader/Club Member) is eligible to enter the My FIDM Fashion Club Scholarship Competition in the Spring of their Junior and Senior years. Plus, all members who attend eight or more Fashion Club meetings during the year they apply to FIDM are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship towards their FIDM tuition.
PLEASE NOTE: The My Fashion Club Business Plan submitted for Chapter Membership is part of the application process to start a club only and is not an entry into the Scholarship Competition. The My Fashion Club Scholarship Competition is a separate, but additional opportunity made available exclusively for FIDM Fashion Club Chapter Members.
